Correct. So if you rolled 4 blacks and they each came up with hit/crit results you would potentially deal 4 face up cards and 4 face down. Although I may need to reword it so the crits dont ignore shields.

The only thing i would add is maybe "at the cost of one die". That way you need to spend a die to roll that extra black. It still greatly increases potential damage on a poor roll, while providing a reason to not roll that extra black on a good roll.

I know that Count Denetrius Vidian was never identified as being part of the Mining Guild, but I felt he fit well enough to justify inclusion. Plus, I really wanted to incorporate his ship, the Forager as the Mining Guild heavyweight.

I was honestly trying to create a mechanic that reflected the high penetration of a Turbolaser modified for industrial applications as well as combat. Plus I like the possibility of multiple results having a cumulative effect. In a way it is very similar to Salvation in outcome, but only if a were used by the defender.

Quite possibly the cheapest carrier out there. Give this sucker expanded hangers and boosted coms, and it will be able to hit way over it's weight class with a couple of bombers. I like it!

To be honest, I would much rather have Nav Team, to get those extra clicks of yaw to keep targets in that front arc. My big question is did I go far enough dropping one front shield and one hull? Is a hull reduction down to 10 enough, or should I drop it to 9?

I ran a few skirmishes. The potential damage is outweighed by the 3 hull so far, with counter 1 yielding minimal results. Potentially they can one-shot any squadron without tokens. Potentially almost any squadron can one-shot them. I need to get them in a real fleet engagement to see if the points need to go up a bit.

I like it, but playtesting should let you know if the point cost is on target. I think it makes sense for the base ship to have a single as well, though it will tweak the points a bit.

This one in particular has me thinking that a new keyword may be required to declutter the dial. Something like Durable: you receive one damage for every two hits rolled against you.then you could drop the hull down to 4, or even 3 as odd numbers of hits would be useless. Then you have the issue of too many keywords, but one problem at a time.

I think the decision of squadron/flotilla/small ship depends on a mix of durability, & maneuverability. With the maneuverability pushing towards squadron, durability pushing toward small ship. Flotillas just strike me as the in-betweens that are too fragile to be capital ships, and too cumbersome to be squadrons. Mostly non combat ships. The mantis strikes me as a large squadron.
